The objectives for designing this co-working center were to be able to work with the relationships between building form, program, and site in the urban context. The site is unique as it is a post-industrial site at the Gowanus Canal, at the foot of the highest rapid transit station in the world.

The design intent is to recontextualize the Gowanus area as it undergoes transition and redevelops as a result of the Gowanus Canal superfund. A metaphorical juxtaposition of water and debris in the Gowanus Canal, informs the concepts process of mass, to geometry, to final form: a tower and its base.
